Telepresence spider


I’m building a small telepresence robot on a hexapod platform and I think I have everything but the speaker and microphone. We have a variety of speakers dotted about and I was wondering if I need to amplify them if I want to use them on a RPi. Is there a cheap off the shelf board for it?

Also, has anyone attempted setting up a microphone with a rpi? I don’t think that one needs amplification so I guess I just need to find one and cut it up to fit my project… I want it to pick up sound from quite a distance (5m).
