So after a failed attempt to replace my phone battery I’ve been browsing the internet for a new phone. I’m keen to keep repairing my own phones so until my replacement part comes I was wondering what’s still around.

As you all know, the fairphone is supposed to be a great product with easily replaceable parts, but unfortunately there hasn’t been a new one in a few years, and they don’t seem to be investing in newer versions of the operating system.

On one of the reddit fairphone posts I noticed someone mention shiftphone.

They’re pretty cool and seem to be coming out with all kinds of products. Even better, most of their products have easily serviceable parts such as screens kept together with screws and removable batteries.

Not too keen on the helios core but they are coming out with a snapdragon version at the end of the year.
